Before #Windows10 was released #Microsoft stated that it had big ambitions for the OS with a plan to reach over 1 billion installs within 2 to 3 years of its release. Since it's launch on July 29th 2015 Microsoft has updated us a few times on the progress of the OS with the most recent figure putting the OS at 20% of the 1 billion goal in only 15% of the time.
I have previously shared via Twitter some statistics about the roll out of the new OS, however I have now created something more substantial. If you visit http://www.michaelgillettonline.com/windows10.html you can see the progress of Windows 10's installs.
Right now it shows 5 points in time of the OS's progress and an overall chart of its progress. The OS is currently on a trajectory that puts it at reaching 1 billion devices before the 3 year target.
I will update this every time Microsoft announces new figures and I have plans to add extra information to it this page too, including a break down of the different device types running Windows 10. As always, if you have any suggestions or think anything isn't quite right then please get in touch. In the meantime go and check out how well Windows 10 is progressing.
