This week I attended the #AngularConnect conference in London and of course was expecting a lot of pro #Google sentiment from the event. This happened but so too did something else I wasn’t expecting, #Microsoft was everywhere.

One thing that surprised me before I went was the lack of any #TypeScript sessions (for those of you that don’t know, Angular 2 is written using Microsoft’s TypeScript) ...

There were a number of great announcements from #Microsoft at Build’s day 1 keynote with bots and the new Bot Framework given the most attention. Satya talked for a while about the new “Conversation as a Platform”, it's place within Microsoft as it intersects with all three of their strategic areas and how it'll be the future of technology.

There were examples of #Cortana interacting with bots,...

A few weeks ago, after a number of significant announcements from #Microsoft, I asked the question “what’s left for Build?” Tomorrow we will find out.

Since posing that question a few rumours have surfaced that could lead us to get very excited tomorrow, such things as exploding Live Tiles and a greatly expanded level of integration between Cortana, users and apps. There’s even indications today ...

For a few of Microsoft’s bigger events over the past year I have created Bingo/Drinking Games containing word and phrases likely, and in some cases very unlikely, to be said during the keynotes. They have been fun to create and even more fun to play, well the drinking variation anyway, and so I thought I would create another one for #Build 2016.

However, I thought I would improve what I have done...

This week has proven to fairly momentous for #Microsoft after the company finally started rolling out #Windows10 Mobile, offered new Insider builds for both PC and mobiles offering #Edge Extensions and #Twitter even released their new Mobile app.

All these new updates and releases are great and are some of the most requested and asked about things for Microsoft. I don’t know when a day last went ...

Before #Windows10 was released #Microsoft stated that it had big ambitions for the OS with a plan to reach over 1 billion installs within 2 to 3 years of its release. Since it's launch on July 29th 2015 Microsoft has updated us a few times on the progress of the OS with the most recent figure putting the OS at 20% of the 1 billion goal in only 15% of the time.

I have previously shared via Twitt...

#Microsoft held its big #Windows10 event unveiling many features, that it will work on PCs, laptops, tablets, phones, IoT devices and the #Xbox One, plus the all-important fact that for the first year it would be a free update for Windows 7 and 8.1 users.

The company showed off the new #Continuum features, improved design of the OS and how Cortana would be integrated into the OS. T...

I’ve been trialling the #Lumia950 for just over a week now so I thought it would be a good time to share with you my thoughts of the new Windows flagship phone. In short it is great. Read on for find out more details about it.

Windows 10

I have used #Windows10 Mobile on a few devices over the past few months so it’s new features, functionality and improved design don’t feel new to me. But, what...

On Saturday morning Mr UPS man came and delivered my newest device, the #Microsoft Band 2. Over the past few days I have been wearing almost non-stop and thought I’d share my initial impressions with you.

First off, it’s new, flexible straps make it so much more comfortable to wear. In fact, since Saturday I’ve hardly been aware I’m wearing it. It might even be lighter than the Band 1 too.

The ...

Much has been made of Microsoft’s recent hardware event with a number of updated devices and the surprise that is the #Surface Book announcement. But, aside from the devices there was one other key take away from the event, the enthusiasm and high levels of sass from some of the presenters. With phrases such as “you can be productive like a boss” being used during the demo of Continuum on the #Lum...

#Microsoft delivered on its promise of new devices today, surprising and delighting the assembled masses with a wide range of new hardware announcements. The leaks and rumours of the past few weeks and months perhaps lessened some of the excitement but Microsoft sure made up for that.

Kicking the event off Microsoft revealed that #HoloLens Developer Kits will be available in Q1 of 2016 and will c...

With all the excitement around tomorrow's big #Microsoft event I thought I would put together another drinking game full of the phrases that are both likely and unlikely.

Hopefully we'll all make it through ok! You can find the drinking game on OneDrive - http://1drv.ms/1QURmeD

I will be live tweeting (and maybe drinking) the event tomorrow via @MichaelGillett and will most likely be providi...
