#Microsoft held its big #Windows10 event unveiling many features, that it will work on PCs, laptops, tablets, phones, IoT devices and the #Xbox One, plus the all-important fact that for the first year it would be a free update for Windows 7 and 8.1 users.

The company showed off the new #Continuum features, improved design of the OS and how Cortana would be integrated into the OS. T...

There was a time when I barely thought of #OneDrive, not because I wasn’t interested in it but because the technology did what it needed to and got out of the way. That was the time of Windows 8/8.1 and it was great.

In some way this has improved with Windows#10, especially with the Photos app. I can see all my photos on my OneDrive and those that are uploaded from my phone without needing to eve...

Yesterday #Microsoft announced that #OneDrive has a new feature, Shared Folder Sync. This new feature allows users to add other users' folders to their own OneDrive and use them as if they were their own folders. This has long been requested for the cloud storage service.

The implementation is very simple, if you are viewing another user's OneDrive folders then you can click "Add to my OneDrive...

In a blog post yesterday #Microsoft announced a number of small new features for the #OneDriveforBusiness web client. The additions will be arriving over the coming weeks.

A new right click menu

Microsoft is improving the controls available to business users by bringing a new right-click menu to the client. Users will be able to access controls quickly, such as editing, moving, renaming and s...

Loving the designs of the t-shirts #Microsoft handed out at #MWC15 I thought I would recreate it as a desktop wallpaper. As you can see I have created two versions, one for a PC and one for a phone. I hope you like them.

Yesterday #Microsoft announced a new update for the Windows Phone #OneDrive app bringing 3 new features. The first addition is that users can sign into the storage app with multiple Microsoft Accounts. This builds on support for OneDrive for Business accounts that Microsoft added to the app earlier in the year. Users can now bring together all their files from across all their OneDrive accounts an...

Following on with my regular investigations into the #OneDrive Locker service (http://www.piptell.com/Home/Pip/4193), coming soon to #XboxMusic, I have discovered something new. On the music.xbox.com website there is a new string that suggests the Locker service won't just be integrated into Xbox Music but will be a separate app in its own right.

'GetTheLockerApp': 'N/A'

In the list of strin...

Yesterday Microsoft's #OneDrive team announced a number of new features aimed at improving the photo experience on the cloud storage service. You can read about the improvements here - http://www.piptell.com/Home/Pip/4308

This morning I have had some time to play around with some of the new features and what has impressed me most is the automatic tagging feature. OneDrive will now analyse all y...

Following hot on the heels of the announcement of new features for photos on #OneDrive (http://www.piptell.com/Home/Pip/4308) #Microsoft has also announced that it's updated and new iOS and Mac apps now support #OneDriveforBusiness.

This means users can add a OneDrive for Business account to the OneDrive iOS app and have access to all their secure work files alongside their personal files. Rece...

Photos have long been a key part of #OneDrive with the mobile apps offering automatic backup of pictures and the ability for users to view all their photos wherever they are stored in the service. However, the browsing experience hasn't ever done much more than show all photos, that is until today.

In a blog post #Microsoft has announced a number of new feature and large improvements that are c...

As I dig around the latest build of #Windows10 I have found that the #OneNote app is actually the new preview version and not, as I was expecting, the version found on Windows 8.1.

This app features a new touch UI including a version the ribbon UI. This same UI is being incorporated into the other #Office touch apps too and if you are familiar with the touch apps on iOS and Android then you wil...
